Registered Nurse (RN) PACU Weekends

Inova Alexandria hospital is looking for an experienced Perianesthesia (PACU) Nurse for a full time Day Shift Weekender position. Inova’s Perianesthesia RNs work pre and post op; Phase 1 and 2.  Must be able to work full time: three consecutive 12-hour shifts (Fri-Sat-Sun or Sat-Sun-Mon), totaling 72 hours per pay period. There is a premium weekend differential for this schedule.

The OR is equipped with 11 surgical suites.  Comprehensive range of surgical specialties to include, orthopedics-total joints, sports medicine, spine, General Surgery, ENT, gynecology, urology, plastics, vascular, neurosurgery, podiatry, and maxillofacial.

RN PACU Weekend Requirements:

• One year of critical care (ICU or ED) or PACU RN experience is required.
• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• RN license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• BLS healthcare provider certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required at hire.

RN Weekend Preferred Requirements:

• 1+ years of PACU experience to include PreOp, Phase 1 and 2 recovery

• 2+ yrs of critical care nursing (ICU/ED)
